Tour de Arte

Jose Antonio is a passionate art expert who is well connected and respected in the Oaxaca art community. This was a unique tour visiting the studio/homes of a wide range of artists. Wow! We were able to interact with each of these artists and to see how they live and work. A great opportunity to purchase as well. If you are an art collector or want to begin acquiring art this is the perfect experience. Tour is by private sedan at your pace. Great fun and conversations. A totally non commercial experience.

Words can’t capture just how incredible this tour was, or how thoughtful, accommodating, and gracious Jose Antonio, his daughter, and the artists were. Visiting four artist’s studios in one day we saw some amazing and interesting art, talked with the artists, and learned a lot about their styles and backgrounds. Each artist extended warm hospitality to us as they welcomed us to their studios. This is a fascinating and great way to meet some incredibly talented artists. There was zero pressure to buy anything. We purchased a couple beautiful prints and one original piece a couple days after the tour because we couldn’t stop thinking about them, however! Jose Antonio was happy to arrange a second visit to two studios for us. Lunch was also amazing!

The Art Studio Tour was a fabulous option for our group of six (parents and adult children in their 20's) who were first timers in Oaxaca. Jose and his daughter Maria (who served as interpreter) were delightful to spend the day with and knowledgeable about the art scene in and around Oaxaca. They helped us with purchasing pieces from multiple artists and arrange for shipping to the U.S. Highly recommend!
